All Styles Tribe Origin Story

All Styles Tribe is a high quality dance studio in Los Angeles, CA but the idea started 5 years ago on the East Coast around 2020. The dance community was strong and growing and creating the most fun experiences for people to learn, perform, compete, and teach. Then 2 major dance studios closed because their landlord raised the rent too high and suddenly the city lacked dance spaces. Searching for dance studios or dance classes near me did not turn up much. I found an old laundromat with parking and 5,000 square feet of space, which was perfect for a new dance studio. The contract to buy the building was ready to be signed and then COVID hit and everything shutdown.
I moved to Los Angeles, CA after the deal fell through and waited for 2 years to get back to dancing after the pandemic was finally over. Nobody liked dancing over zoom calls or wearing masks while taking a dance class. There are many more dance studios in Los Angeles, CA and I could take classes every day. The challenge was driving to dance classes took a long time and especially for the 6 pm dance classes. Even in Los Angeles, CA there was not enough good dance studios and people typically drive far to learn from their favorite dance teachers.
I looked all over Los Angeles, CA trying to find a good empty warehouse to rents with big space, no posts, and a decent parking situation. In 2022 rents were too high and most landlords did not want the noise from a dance studio, so I put my search on hold. Fast forward to 2025 and a bad economy significantly lowered rent and many rental options came on the market. I was laid off from my job too, which gave me plenty of time to search for the perfect spot and then coordinate the renovations, build the website, etc... Sometimes good things come from bad times.
The All Styles Tribe dance studio is literally the perfect dance studio space with the only compromise being no lobby. Thanks to Ray Fournier the dance floors are among the best in Los Angeles, CA. My landlord was fair and supportive where he even added an extra AC unit to the roof to guarantee nice cool air for the dancers. The list of things that make All Styles Tribe a great dance space is listed below.

Naming the dance studio was probably the hardest part. Ha ha. We want the name to mean something and also have the website URL available. It had to be about community, being inclusive, and personal growth. Some of the early candidate names were "WeDanceFam" and "CypherTribe" which evolved into "All Styles Tribe" dance studio. We stayed true to the name by offering Hip Hop, Jazz Funk, K-pop, Heels, Contemporary, Flow-pop, Reggaeton, Sensual, Choreo, Freestyle, Grooves, Bachata, Salsa, Samba, Bollywood, Waccking, Locking, Popping, Tutting, House, and Majorette.
