Swing dancing in Los Angeles, CA is done in historic Art Deco ballrooms and local lodges. The main sub styles are the Lindy Hop, Balboa, and Collegiate Shag. Influential instructors are Stephen Sayer and Chandrae Roettig, known for their championship-winning "LA Jitterbug" style. The Cicada Club downtown offers a vintage experience with big bands like The Esquires. The Burbank Moose Lodge has live sets from groups like San Lyon. Other locations include the Queen Mary in Long Beach, where Ashley Anne and The Carnations play the Observation Bar, and the Pasadena Ballroom Dance Association, run by Lindy Hop loyalist Erin Stevens. There is never a dull moment in LA with so many options.
